Health Practitioner Insurance

Health practitioners who are not a full medical or dental clinic still have a professional-liability license problem and a premises problem. Counseling files, chiropractic adjustment claims, and a waiting-room slip are different lines. We place the office package and we place or coordinate the professional policy the license actually requires.

This page is for counseling practices, chiropractic offices, and similar licensed practitioners. Hospital and surgery-center work is not what we are selling here. If you are a full medical or dental clinic, use that page — the contents and med-waste story is heavier.

Risks we actually schedule

  • Professional claims arising from treatment, advice, or a missed referral.
  • Privacy and record-system incidents that a small cyber sublimit will not fund.
  • Waiting-room and parking-lot guest injuries.
  • Tenant-improvement water losses in a built-out treatment suite.

Frequently asked questions

Do you place professional liability for every license type?

We place or coordinate office-level professional coverage for the classes we have a market for. Some licenses need a specialty market. Tell us the license and the procedures before we promise a bind.

Is this the same as a medical office policy?

Related. Medical and dental clinics often have diagnostic equipment, med-waste, and a different professional tower. Practitioners in a suite can be lighter — we will not underinsure a clinic by calling it a suite.

Do we need cyber if we use an EHR vendor?

Yes. The vendor’s contract does not move your notification duty. See also our medical-dental page if you hold imaging or a large record set.
