Hobby, Toy, and Game Shop Insurance

Toy and hobby shops carry dense inventory and, increasingly, in-store play, painting nights, and tournament days. That is a retail property account plus a premises account that looks a little like a studio. We write both, including the peak holiday inventory that a January worksheet will understate.

We place independent hobby, toy, and game shops. If you manufacture paint or import a private-label line, the products story gets heavier — tell us.

Risks we actually schedule

  • Holiday inventory fire or water loss on an understated contents limit.
  • Guest injury during in-store play, classes, or tournament days.
  • Products allegations on imported toys or paints.
  • Theft of high-value collectibles that were never scheduled.

Frequently asked questions

Do game nights change our insurance?

They change the premises description. We want them on the application so a participant injury is not “an undisclosed assembly.”

Should collectibles be scheduled?

If a single case or a glass cabinet is a meaningful part of your equity, yes. A blanket contents limit will argue with you after a targeted theft.

We sell online from the back room. Does that matter?

Ship-from-store and cyber belong on the application. Products still follow the goods.
