Barber Shop Insurance
A barbershop is a close-contact professional class with a simpler chemical story than a color salon and a sharper tools story. Professional liability for cuts, shaves, and hot-towel work sits beside a small commercial package on the chairs, the build-out, and the waiting area.
We write independent shops and multi-chair rooms. Booth renters should carry their own professional coverage and name the shop. If you have crossed into full color or skin, our beauty-salon page is the better chassis and we will say so.
Risks we actually schedule
- Cutting and shaving injuries, including hot-towel and straight-razor claims.
- Guest slip-and-falls on wet tile and at the storefront.
- Booth renters who were never certificated to the shop owner.
- Water damage to a recently built-out shop.
Frequently asked questions
Is barber professional liability different from salon coverage?
The form family is similar; the services schedule should list what you actually do. Straight-razor and hot-towel work belong on the application, not as a surprise at claim time.
Do I need coverage if I rent a chair?
Yes. Chair renters should carry their own professional and GL and name the shop additional insured.
Can the shop policy cover every barber in the room?
It can cover W-2 barbers. Independent chair renters need their own paper. Mixing the two without certificates is how shops inherit claims.
