Funeral Home Insurance

A funeral home holds families, vehicles, and remains. The file is premises and professional liability, commercial auto for the coach and flower cars, property on a building that is often older and assembly-occupied, and a careful employment-practices conversation. This is not a generic chapel-rental policy.

We place funeral homes and chapel-service operations. Cemeteries and crematories with heavier industrial equipment need to be disclosed. Washington staff stay with L&I; we place stop-gap and any competitive-state WC.

Risks we actually schedule

  • Professional claims involving care of remains or a service error.
  • Guest injury in chapels, parking, and on stairs of older buildings.
  • Coach and flower-car auto claims, including hired units at a large service.
  • Property losses on older assembly buildings and ordinance-or-law rebuild cost.

Frequently asked questions

Is funeral-home professional liability the same as GL?

No. GL is guest injury and property damage. Professional is the care-of-remains and service-error claim. You want both.

Do livery cars need a special auto form?

They need commercial auto that contemplates livery. Tell us about first-call vans and any 15-passenger exposure.

We rent the chapel to outside families. Does that change the policy?

It adds a lessors or premises-rental exposure. Writable, but it belongs on the application.
